How I can correct a "low key" fishing reel?
I accidentally forgot to wash my reel with fresh water after been exposed to salt water and sand. The reel (spinning reel) can rotate in both directions, but the handle does not move. How I can fix this?
Possible causes are sand or rust. Either way, you have to open and clean out, then re-lubricate and reassemble. The parties scheme is probably available online (at the manufacturer's website), or can have one that comes with the reel. reel lubricant is available in any tackle shop if not already done so. I have been servicing my reels own since I was 12 years. It is not rocket science. Or if you're not mechanically inclined, you can take to deal with a store and pay for them to do - which will probably cost a few dollars, but it must be done right.
