Minn Kota Powerdrive
Need answers to some questions new boat!?
I'm buying a 1750 Lund Outfitter with either a motor of 50 horsepower or 40. Need how to determine what thrust trolling motor I need. I was thinking of the new 80/AP Terrovora Minn Kota PowerDrive V2 or 70/AP? I'm not sure if that is much push too? Another question is what engine or two and four times what brand? Thanks in advance
HI get many responses until the engine and the pros and cons of 2 v 4 stroke. I have had Johnson, Evinrude, Mercury and Mariner one. Two and 4 days. What did I prefer ... Well ... they were goo all points bad points .. For example, I had a 150 hp merc new 2006 and new 2006 15 hp merc as a kicker. They never had a problem .. Both were new and regular maintenance. That is important to ensure you the services and follow all recommendations. I had a 1965 25hp johnson ... worked like new. Because they had maintained. The Evinrude was a pig at first ... and needed new parts, but then with the regular maintenance that was great. I know have a 1972 50hp Johnson in a Sportcraft old. On his get there, but I had to work on it, but the work has been easy because it is a stroke and two lots of help available. on the Internet. Doesn't really important in my opinion regarding the best service engine basically what to expect .... marinas are more active in 4-pass two strokes. I was told by a Mercury dealer. 4 strokes tend to be a little more expensive to repair. and require more services fewent. But these are cleaner and more economical gasoline. So basically go with the engine that suits your needs. Go with the largest HP will not have to run at full throttle (WOT open the throttle wide) favors maintaining the same speed as you would with a 40 horsepower. Also used to be putting less pressure on the engine also .... According trolling motor ... go for the biggest boost you can afford .. You may not need the top all the time but you can always use the push extr if its main engine dies in water at least thrust trolling motor up will return to the track .... Good luck with your purchase and remember what the term means BOAT .... Break Out a thousand .....
