What baits, lures, and tactics to use when fishing a small lake too?
I fish a small lake near my house and I'm looking for new tactics to use, any ideas? There are a couple of tickets soon and the only type of coverage is weed?
I would be willing to bet that there is a little more coverage than the weeds, although weeds will hold a lot of fish. Are there banks of rock? If so, the fish themselves. Rock banks often have the same amount of fish, if not more than stumps and what not. shadow is also a good thing to look for this time of year. On hot summer will cause the fish to seek shade and / or deeper waters. For weeds, usually adhere to three baits: 1. Spinnerbaits. If weeds are submerged, and have enough space to run the bait right above them, a spinnerbait will produce fish. Again, do your best to keep running just spinnerbait above the weeds, if possible. 2. Plastic baits. Plastic baits are welcome in this situation because you can build weeds and reel through the bush normally quite easily. The Texas rig is the main thing you should consider in my opinion. Another option would be a jerkbait preferably weightless style Texas platform. Again, if possible, the right jerkbait remain above the weeds. 3. Top water lures. If weeds are really thick, sometimes can not fish the bait sink too well. Either way, a Top Water Lure normally produce well enough in the weeds. If there is a lot of floating weeds, consider a frog lure. These lures are weeds and can be fished in heavy things without getting hung up or caught on a lot of weeds and what not. I took some very large low in these lures.
